Area students honored for their theatrical performances

TAB award winners

DOLA — The theatrical performances of Hardin County area students were recognized Tuesday night at the Take-A-Bow Awards Ceremony at Hardin Northern High School. The eighth annual event was sponsored by the community theater group, the Hardin County Players. Committee members from the Players attended all the high school productions during the 2016-2017 school year.

Vassar to bring country music show to Marion

MARION — Country music fans can expect a high-energy concert when Phil Vassar takes the historic Marion Palace Theatre stage on Friday, May 12 at 8 p.m. Best known for his heartfelt songwriting style and phenomenal piano playing, Vassar has a collection of awards under his belt including Top 5 hits “Carlene,” “American Child” and “Another Day in Paradise.”

Hardin County Players to present TAB Awards

The Hardin County Players will present its eighth annual TAB Awards on Tuesday, May 9 at the Hardin Northern High School gymnasium. The ceremony begins at 7 p.m.. "TAB" is an acronym for "Take A Bow,” and honors the theatrical productions given over the past school year by the six Hardin County schools: Ada, Hardin Northern, Kenton, Ridgemont, Riverdale and the Upper Scioto Valley Drama Club.

Mystic Timbers opens

Riders enjoy the new Mystic Timbers roller coaster at Kings Island Amusement Park during a media preview day on April 13. Built by Pennsylvania-based Great Coasters International and themed to an abandoned lumber company, the story-driven 109-foot-tall wooden roller coaster will traverse 16 airtime hills through wooded terrain and over water along a 3,265-foot-long track at speeds up to 53 mph.
