AMVETS Post 1994 is hosting its second annual car show on Saturday, July 4 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine, at the post home, 417 W. Espy St., Kenton. Registration is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the cost is $15 per entry.
Area children will present a familiar story in a shorter format when they stage “Beauty and the Beast Jr.” this weekend in Kenton. Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Kenton Middle School auditorium.

ADA — Patriotic classics, American standards, and popular movie and Broadway tunes will highlight the Lima Symphony Orchestra’s Fourth of July “Patriotic Pops” celebration on the campus of Ohio Northern University.
Members of The Cadets drum and bugle corps practice at Ohio Northern University’s Dial-Roberson Stadium Wednesday evening in preparation for their summer series. The Cadets consists of 150 members between the ages of 16 and 22 will travel 14,000 miles this summer to entertain their fans.
The 2015 Tree Town Festival Parade in Forest will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 10. Line-up will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the soccer field on West Zimmerman Street (former Forest school grounds.)
