Live life to the fullest: National Day of Prayer National Day of Prayer is celebrated on May 2nd. If you haven’t ever heard of it, it’s actually been around since 1952. In that year, it was signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. It was amended in 1988 and signed into law by President Ronald Reagan designating the first Thursday of May as a day of national prayer.
