It was celebration time at the joint meeting of Kappa and Lambda Chapters of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International on April 13 at 11 a.m. Kappa Co-Presidents Norma Frederick and Dorothy Blackburn welcomed 28 members and 5 guests: Judy Green, Joan Woodruff, Sandra Moore, Jodi Phillips, and Adeline Terry at the Kenton Elks.

The Hardin Hi-Lighters met Thursday, April 4 at the Greenwood Grange in Grant. Will Browning and Kinley Howe led the American and 4-H pledges. Members signed up for club officers with election held.

Knitters returned this month to Hardin Memorial Hospital for their monthly meetings. Seventeen members and two guests were present for the April 9 meeting of the Ohio Knit Wits. Following an hour of social knitting President Laura Ferguson began the meeting by welcoming everyone and asking for the roll call.

The Kroger Crusaders Relay for Life team is having a purse bingo on May 4 at the Kenton Moose Lodge. Tickets are $40 per person. The taco bar begins at 5 p.m. with bingo beginning at 6 p.m.

The 1994 Riders met on April 8 at 7:30 p.m. with 14 members present. Meeting called to order by the president with sergeant-at-arms presenting the colors. Minutes and Finance reports were given approved.

ALGER — The Alger Public Library is having its annual summer reading program for the children and adults of our community to encourage them to read for pleasure during the summer months and for the children to retain their reading skills. This year’s theme is “A Universe of Stories”.

ALGER — The Alger Public Library in partnership with the Hardin County OSU Extension Office is offering a "Young Mom Support Class" at the library in May. The free program for young mothers teens through 25 years old are slated for May 10, 17, 24 and 31 at 1:45-2:45 p.m.

DUNKIRK — The Hardin Northern Community Center will have a bake sale Saturday, April 20 from 9 a.m. to noon. Anyone who wants to make something to include in the sale is welcome to do so. Proceeds will benefit the center.
