March 28th is Children’s Picture Book Day. With a chill still in the air, what a perfect time to curl up under a blanket and read a good book. You are never too old to read a children’s picture book. And, when you choose a children’s picture book, there are no cliffhangers because you can finish them in one sitting.

Ada VFW is having a fish fry on Friday, March 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. or until the food is gone. The cost is $9 or $4 for those younger than age 10. The all-you-can-eat meal includes fish, baked beans, french fries, hush puppies, coleslaw, roll and dessert.

The Hardin County Council on Aging, Inc. had its Annual Meeting on Tuesday, March 19 at the Kenton Elks at noon. Jim Wise, board president, welcomed everyone present and said the prayer. The meal followed with delicious food prepared by the Elks.

The Elks Ladies Card Club met on Thursday, March 21. The tables were decorated with shamrocks and St. Patrick’s Day theme. Hostess for Bridge was Pat Brehm and Hostesses for Shoot the Moon were Barb Roof and Shari Longbrake.

BELLEFONTAINE — Benjamin Logan High School has announced its merit and honor rolls for the third quarter of the 2018-2019 school year.

DOLA — Hardin Northern Elementary has announced its honor roll for the third quarter of the 2018-2019 school year.

ADA – Kevin Hines, a suicide-attempt survivor, will discuss suicide prevention at 7 p.m. on April 4 in the King-Horn Sports Center gymnasium at Ohio Northern University. Hines is also a renowned mental health advocate and filmmaker. The event is free and open to the public.

LIMA — Benjamin and Missy Budde are the organizers of The Night of Hope Against Heroin, scheduled to take place live in the TV-44 studio in Lima on Saturday, March 30 from 7 to 8 p.m. This event will include speakers, testimonial videos, and local musicians, all with a unified message that there is freedom from the chains of addiction.
