4-H Club News: March 15, 2019

HIGH FLYERS The High Flyers 4-H Club met March 12 at Epworth Methodist Church. The meeting was called to order. Roll call was to introduce yourself and tell how many years you were in 4-H. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. A treasurer’s report was given.

Kenton Choral Boosters meet

The Kenton Choral Boosters met on Tuesday, March 12 at 6 p.m. in the Kenton High School Library. Members present were Sue Bailey, president; Steffanie Humphries, vice president; Matthew Ketcham, treasurer; Wanda Horner, secretary; along with Vanessa Bell, Bill Keller and Todd Daquino, Top 20 director.

Tree Town Festival plans royalty contests

FOREST — The 2019 Tree Town Festival, to be held July 12, 13, and 14 in Gormley Park, Forest, is now accepting applications for the festival royalty contests. There will be three competitions: baby, prince and princess, and king and queen. The winners will be chosen by the most festival tickets sold by the contestants.

Craft program in Forest

FOREST — “Cut the Craft” at the Forest-Jackson Public Library will be held at 1 and 7 p.m. Thursday, March 28. Adults and teens are invited to make a wood block spring chick (looks great with last year’s bunny). There is a $2 fee for materials.

Fish fry offered

Amvets Post 1994, 417 W. Espy St., Kenton is holding a fish fry open to the public on Friday, March 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. The all-you-can-eat fish dinner includes fish, baked beans, potato salad and roll for an $8 donation.
