The Kenton Elks Lodge recognized area young people as Teenagers of the Month during a luncheon at the lodge. Teens honored for December are as follows:

DUNKIRK — Need help with your phone, laptop, tablet, chrome book, or ereader? Chloe Noel will be at the Hardin Northern Public Library on Thursday, Feb. 7 from 1 to 8 p.m. to offer free help with technology, internet, devices and navigating social site.

BELLEFONTAINE — Benjamin Logan High School will be holding Freshman Orientation for incoming freshmen for the 2019-2020 school year on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. This evening will be an opportunity for parents and students to ask any questions regarding the transition to the high school. A tour of the building will follow.

DUNKIRK — The book discussion group at the Hardin Northern Public Library will meet Thursday, Feb. 7 starting at 7 p.m. The group will discuss "Mrs. Grant and Madame Jule" by Jennifer Chiaverini.

Former Ohio State Senator Joe Schiavoni will keynote the annual Presidents Day Luncheon for the Hardin County Democratic Party. The luncheon will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16 at noon in the lower level of the Kenton Moose Lodge, 801 W. Lima St., Kenton.

TIFFIN — Tiffin University has announced its 2018 Fall Semester Dean’s List. Area students recognized were Tommie Harner of Ada, Davis Bowers and Taylor Hites of Belle Center, Brooklyn Gibson of Forest, Britton Hensel of Kenton and Lindsay Laney of Mt. Blanchard.

MONDAY, FEB. 4 Sewing workshop, “LED Sewing Circuits” – 6:15-7:45 p.m. at OSU Extension Spark Lab, 1021 W. Lima St., Kenton. Cost is $15 per class or $60 for all classes this season (due at registration), covers all materials and a snack.

Keep Hardin County Beautiful Commission is sponsoring the Courthouse Beautification project, formerly known as the “Adopt-An-Urn” campaign. Donations may be made in honor or memory of someone special for a donation of $25 or more.

DUNKIRK — Bingo will be played at the Hardin Northern Community Center Tuesday, Feb. 5 and Thursdya, Feb. 7 from 1 to 3 pm. There is no charge to play and anyone interested is invited to join in an afternoon of fun and fellowship. Guests may take snacks and drink for themselves and/or to share.
