This past week, Hardin Northern Scool conducted its Community Cleanup Day. All 7-12 students were assigned to all of the township and county roads in the district to pick up litter.

BATH, Maine – A 2008 Kenton High School graduate and Kenton native is serving as part of the Pre Commissioning Unit for the future Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, USS Thomas Hudner (DDG 116). Petty Officer 2nd Class Brian Richards is a ship's servicemen assigned to DDG 116 in Bath, Maine.

Dementia Friends gives people an understanding of dementia and the small things you can do that make a difference. A free program will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 22 at the Mary Lou Johnson-Hardin County District Library, 325 E. Columbus St., Kenton. The building is wheelchair accessible.

ADA — The Ada High School Baccalaureate Service is set for Wednesday, May 23 at 7 p.m. in English Chapel on the campus of Ohio Northern University. The service is sponsored by the Ada Ministerial Association and area churches.

Starting out National Nursing Home week was Western Day. Residents at Hardin Hills Health and Rehab Center enjoyed the theme, Residents and staff had ice cream sundaes, wore cowboy hats and listened to the singing duet Loco Cowboy.

AMVETS Post 1994, 417 W. Espy St., Kenton is holding a fish fry on Friday, May 18. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. The all-you-can-eat fish dinner includes fish, baked beans, potato salad and roll for an $8 donation.

Hardin County Democrats met Wednesday evening, May 9 at Henry’s Restaurant in Kenton. Members met at 6 p.m. for dinner with the Central and Executive Committee business meeting beginning at 7 p.m. Michael Hubbell, chair, reported on the Ohio Democratic Party Legacy Dinner at the Hyatt in Columbus on April 13.
