MOUNT VICTORY — The Ridgemont Public Library will host a book signing Saturday morning for a local author and veteran. Joel Capell of Mount Victory will sign copies of his book, Radio Silence, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Mount Victory library.

ADA — Community Health Professionals Home Care and Hospice of Ada will be hosting a dinner and charity auction beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 24 in the CHP conference room, located at 1200 S. Main St. The dinner, catered by Tavern 101, will begin at 6 p.m., with the auction to begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 each.

The Hardin County Republican Women held their April meeting on Wednesday, April 18 at the Republican Headquarters. The meeting was presided over by President Brenda Rainsburg, who called the meeting to order and led the women in the pledge of allegiance.

The Fostoria Lake Plains Barbershop Chorus is looking for guys who love to sing. The local chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society will have a special Guest Night on Monday, May 14 from 7:15 to 9:45 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1200 Van Buren St. (Ohio 613), Fostoria.

Kenton Garden Club will meet Tuesday, May 15 at the First United Methodist Church parking lot at 11:15 a.m. to travel to Wapakoneta for lunch and a visit to Casa Chic. Members are asked to RSVP by May 11 to Janet Stevens at 937-726-0868.

The Fortnightly Literary Club will meet at the home of Jane Kraft on Friday, May 11 at 1 p.m. The book for discussion is “The Boys in the Boat” by Daniel James Brown.

Annalee and Eric Sprang of Kenton are parents of a 7-pound, 10-ounce, 20.5-inch boy, Asher Russell, born at 10:21 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky. Grandparents are Brad and Susy Frey of Upper Sandusky, David and Lelean Sprang, and Heather Cox, all of Kenton.
