The Ada Kiwanis Club assisted the Farmers and Merchants Picnic Board with its annual Kiddie Pedal Tractor Pull at the summer festival on Saturday morning. A total of 36 Ada area youngsters participated in the event.

Kenton Moose Family Center 428 hosted a car show on Saturday, Aug. 5 to benefit Not By Choice Outreach. Tony Haudenschield, lodge administrator, presents a check for $1,300 to Karla Ritchie, Brandi Rowe, Patti Risner, and Tami Dunahue, organizer.

Haley Sherman, of Kenton, served as an intern this summer with Ohio State Extension, Franklin County in Columbus. She created and implemented agricultural education workshops and sessions, including an exhibit for COSI’s Farm Days.

The Nite Owl Homemakers Club met Aug. 8 at First Baptist Church, Kenton. Irene Beazley read a poem entitled “God’s Perfect Peace.”

The Kenton Amateur Radio Club will meet on Monday, Aug. 28 at Henry’s Restaurant, Kenton. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. with the club meeting to follow at 7 p.m.

TUESDAY, AUG. 15 S.O.L.O. (Supporting Our Loved Ones) – 5:30 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Kenton.

The Hardin County Family YMCA was the scene every Wednesday for Wacky Wednesday Day Camp from June 21 through Aug. 9. The themes revolved around All Ball games, Emergency Services, Moovin’ and Groovin’ Dance Day, Fun and Fitness Tumbling Day, Artful Antics all creative art, Hawaiian Hullabaloo, Music Makers with special guests who came and demonstrated their instruments, and fairy tales which were dramatized by the campers.

The Kenton Band Boosters met on Monday, Aug. 7 at 6 p.m. in the high school media center. Those in attendance were Young Mi Britton, Emily Schaub, Joyce Roof, Kristin and Duane Hamilton, Sarah Zickafoose, Judy Donnal, Travis Wissman, Ryan Althouse, Katie Ketcham, Amy Kohl, Wanda Horner and Marjorie Cannode.

The 65th annual Thomas and Bessie Wells Purcell Reunion was held on July 15 at Forbing Community Center in downtown Kenton. The reunion drew its largest attendance since 2010.

The Ada Kiwanis Club met at noon on Tuesday, Aug. 8 at the New China Restaurant, Ada. President Tom Kier conducted the meeting.
