A noon meal is served for people ages 60 and older at the Hardin County Council on Aging in Kenton, 419-673-1102, at 11:30 a.m. weekdays. Transportation and meal reservations are required 24 hours in advance.

Two Upper Scioto Valley Elementary School teachers received gift certificates from Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International Ashley Hull who teaches kindergarten and Brooke Sheeley who teaches first grade, were each given a gift certificate from an area business.

FINDLAY -- Students at the University of Findlay recently participated in the annual Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity. Undergraduate and graduate students shared their research, creativity and professional learning experiences with the university and community.

The Upper Scioto Valley third grade students of Leah Hurley and Beth Hopkins recently were given a tour of the Bryan Putnam Memorial Wetlands. The students observed many species of water foul and their nesting habitats.

Heartbeat of Hardin County and Crossroads Crisis Center are coming together to help girls in 7th through 12th grade learn more about how not to be a victim of sex trafficking. The Priceless movie event will be on Friday, June 2 from 7 to 10 p.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Church. 211 E Carrol St, Kenton.

MOUNT VICTORY — The Mount Victory Shopkeepers Group is announcing 1st Saturdays in Mount Victory. A special series of events on the first Saturday of each month this summer and fall including a garden tour, Independence Day celebrating, wine tasting, a painted chair challenge, fall pumpkin fun, a turkey trot, scarecrow contest, and the annual Christmas Open House.

The Hardin County Business and Professional Women’s Club is reminding area students that the deadline is approaching to submit applications for its annual scholarship. The scholarship is open to students from Hardin County who have completed at least two of four years of college at an accredited school, or one year of a two-year business or technical school program.
