Open Gate to be in Dunkirk next week

Open Gate is a program held every month in Allen, Auglaize and Hardin counties. During Open Gate, 15 to 35 social services agencies in the community come together to share a brief summary of services offered by their specific agency and are there to also provide first-step services for individuals who have needs in their lives.

Amanda and Johnny Boyles of Kenton are parents of an 8-pound, 8-ounce, 21-inch boy, Jayce M. Boyles, born at 12:30 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Bluffton Hospital. Grandparents are Susana and Chris Thaxton. Great-grandparents are Sandy and Bruce Thaxton.    

Results of Kenton blood drives reported

The American Red Cross Kenton Community Blood Drive held drives on Monday, Feb. 27 and March 27 at the First Baptist Church, Kenton and 44 units were collected in February with 46 donors signing in. The March drive collected 43 units with 48 donors signing in. These donations will help save 261 lives.

Tree Town royalty contest applications accepted

FOREST — The 2017 Tree Town Festival is now accepting applications for the festival royalty contests. There will be three competitions: prince and princess, king and queen, and festival baby.
