The 21st Century Grant is benefitting all the students of Upper Scioto Valley Schools with the purchase of a new Vmix software which allows production of television broadcastings and live streaming of various student activities. Larry Huber, 21st Century Coordinator, said the machine was purchased so Mary Trudgeon, Ohio Hi-Point IT Instructor at USV, could teach a class on broadcasting and production for the after-school portion of the 21st Century program as well as assisting with their summer program.

ADA -- Ohio Northern University Professor of Communication Arts Emeritus Nils Riess has been awarded the Order of the Cross of Terra Mariana from the Republic of Estonia. The Republic of Estonia bestows as gratitude and recognition various state decorations on persons whose activities have maintained and reinforced the independent Estonian state.

The University Club II has awarded its 2017 college scholarships to Mercedes Mansfield and Taylor Weaver, both of Kenton. Mansfield is a 2014 home school graduate and is attending Grove City College where she is a junior majoring in physics.

The Hardin County Historical Museums is celebrating Red Cross Month and a century of local Red Cross service with a special display in March. Red Cross memorabilia and historical items will be on display throughout the month at the museum located at 223 N. Main St., Kenton.
