Humane Society plans BBQ

Brian Shaffer opened the Hardin County Humane Society’s May 9 meeting with nine trustees present. In upcoming events, May 21 is Pet Food Pantry, 8-10 a.m., with Family Bingo following at 11 a.m.

Victory Jamboree slated

There will be a Victory Jamboree program from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 24 in the Coach and Surrey Room at the Plaza Inn Restaurant, 491 S. Main St., Mount Victory. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.

MEADVILLE, Pa. — Matt Gray, son of Jeff and Beth Gray of Ada, graduated from Allegheny College on May 14. A graduate of Ada High School, Gray received a Bachelor of Science degree from Allegheny with a major in Chemistry and a minor in History.

Easton Joseph

Lindsay M. (Schmidt-Patton) and Adam D. Stayman of Kenton are parents of an 8-pound, 14-ounce, 22-inch boy, Easton Joseph, born at 11:11 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Marion General Hospital. Grandparents are Lonnie and Jennifer Stayman of Kenton, Jennifer and Cotey Stringfellow of Sherwood, Ark., and Matthew Patton of Kenton.

Book sale at BC Library

BELLE CENTER — The Belle Center Free Public Library will be hosting a book sale starting on Monday, May 23. The sale will be held during normal business hours, with the exception of May 28 when the hours will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in conjunction with the Belle Center community yard sales.

The Hardin Memorial Hospital Guild recently held its largest fundraiser, the May Day Brunch (formerly called Spring Luncheon) at Henry’s Restaurant in Kenton. The luncheon tables were decorated with spring lanterns and flower baskets filled with mints.
