Trophy Bassmasters complete fifth tournament of season The Trophy Bassmasters continued their 2019 fishing season with a trip southwest to Lake Loramie near Minster. Sixteen anglers competed for 8 1⁄2 hours each searching for the five biggest bass to bring to weigh in. A total of 36 keeper bass of at least 12” that weighed 57.78lbs were weighed and released. For the fifth tournament in a row, John Clark of Findlay claimed the top position. Clark had a five bass limit at 10.58 pounds for the win. Boyd Downey of Kenton finished 2nd with 9.36 pounds in five fish. Don Kraft from Alger brought in five bass totaling 7.87 pounds to finish third. Read More
Community Foundation invites public to view new offices The Hardin County Community Foundation introduced its new office facility to the public on Tuesday with an open house. The building is called the Judge William D. Hart Community Foundation Building and is named in honor of the man who led it for several years, said Board President Matt Jennings. Read More

BKP Ambulance District clerk learns at job daily As the clerk for the BKP Ambulance District in Kenton, Peg Brown said it’s not a productive day unless she’s learned something on the job. Peg has spent 13 years with BKP, starting in June of 2006 part-time as assistant clerk, then taking on the full-time clerk position in December of 2011. As the clerk, Peg is responsible for keeping books, doing payroll and posting payments for BKP. She also sometimes works with insurance companies in situations when they would deny a claim. Read More
