Kentonite gets national honor for work with Children’s Tumor Foundation

Most people in the area know Larry Gossard as the organizer of the Family Fun Day and Car Show, which raises money for the Children’s Tumor Foundation. But his dedication to neurofibromatosis (NF) research is a year-long dedication. Gossard’s son, Bryce, is a victim of the condition which can cause blindness, deafness, disfiguration, cancer, learning disabilities and developmental delays.

Whether it’s running the youth wrestling program in which his son is involved or helping his daughters on their soccer teams, Michael Hunt is all about being active in his children’s involvements. With a young son showing an interest in wrestling and no local program for him to join, Hunt stepped forward to start the Kenton Youth Wrestling program.

DOLA — Riverdale was first in two events and second in five other events on the way to claiming the boys team championship with 113 points at the Hardin Northern Invitational on Saturday. The Falcons received first place finishes in the 3,200 relay as Justin Scott, Antonio Renteria, Ben Gannon and Josh Hunter clocked a 9:12.4 and in the pole vault as Taylor Bacon cleared 11-6.
