When Debbie Breidenbach decided to put her Royal Duchess Beauty Salon on the market two years ago, she sought help from a higher source. After all, the salon on North Detroit Street in Kenton had been a huge part of her life for 45 years. She was close to her neighbors at the location and wanted the building to be used to better the community.

The Kenton Halloween Parade on Thursday night brought out plenty of creative costumes.

Economic development, law enforcement, the war on drugs and community pride were in the spotlight Wednesday evening as the five men running for two spots on the Hardin County Board of Commissioners exchanged ideas in a respectful, cordial discussion at the Kenton City Schools Administration Building.

ADA — The Ada High School Marching Band has earned at trip to the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) State Marching Band Finals.

BELLEFONTAINE — After spending three years traveling across Ohio serving as treasurer for different community schools, Mandy France was ready to be closer to her Ridgeway home. In July, France took over the role of treasurer for the Benjamin Logan School District and now has just a 15-minute commute to her job.

ADA — During the past 10 years, ReStore has gone from a personal vision of an Ada resident to a central part of the community. Volunteers offer clothing and food to people who find themselves needing assistance.

A First Responders Appreciation Dinner, sponsored by Only Believe Ministries in Kenton, was held Thursday night in the community room at Mid-Ohio Energy Cooperative, Kenton. Police, firefighters and EMTs were invited to the third annual dinner.
