Move of Kenton offices will create additional room at ‘packed’ municipal building

City offices moving

Improved access to city services and more room for Kenton offices and storage is the result of the city’s acquisition of the former Mid-Ohio Energy Cooperative building. Beginning at noon on Monday, the city’s water, income tax, and parks and recreation offices will open at the new building, temporarily known as the “555 Building” for its location at 555 W. Franklin St.

A crew from Shelly Company is widening Letson Avenue at its intersection with U.S. 68 on Tuesday morning. Kenton Safety Service Director Jim Hites announced that paving was to begin there today.

Off and running

Kenton Elementary students take off on a half-mile fun run as part of the Pumpkin Run sponsored by the school’s PTO on Saturday morning. The fun run was followed by a 5K run for older students and adults.

Kenton beauty salon owner retiring after 45 years

New beginning

When Debbie Breidenbach decided to put her Royal Duchess Beauty Salon on the market two years ago, she sought help from a higher source. After all, the salon on North Detroit Street in Kenton had been a huge part of her life for 45 years. She was close to her neighbors at the location and wanted the building to be used to better the community.
