CAREY — Area singers are invited to join the Carey Ecumenical Christmas Choir as preparations begin for this year’s concert to be held on Sunday, Dec. 13 at 4:30 p.m. The concert will be held at the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, 315 Clay Street in Carey.

Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 40 Washington Blvd., Kenton, will have a Mission Festival this Sunday at 10:15 a.m. during its regular worship service. Pastor Scott Mosher of Hosanna Lutheran Church, Monclova, will be the speaker.

Members of the Torre Fuerte (Strong Tower) worship team from Columbus will perform in both English and Spanish at the annual Night of Worship, set for 6 p.m. Saturday on the north side of the Hardin County Courthouse.

TLC Ministries will host another Singing Revival Series on Saturday, Oct. 3 at its Oasis of Life Worship Center, 127 N. Market St., Kenton. The evening begins with a free dinner from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m.

ADA — Impact PCG Student Ministries and Ada Full Gospel Church will host a 2015 Family Fun Night on Saturday, Oct. 10.

While the city of Kenton is new to Pastor David Robertson, it brings back memories from his time growing up in his hometown of Sharon, Pa. Robertson and his wife, Susan, have been in town since mid-August, and he began as pastor of Faith Baptist Church at the beginning of September.

The Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Kenton is holding a special service to honor the courageous men and women who protect our city and county as police officers, firefighters, and medical professionals. These first responders selflessly serve their fellow citizens every day and often put their lives in danger for others.

TLC Ministries will be holding revival services beginning Sunday, Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. with Evangelist Stephen Gentry of Edinburg, Ind. As a pastor, Gentry has dealt with the severe abuse of drugs and alcohol in his community and understands that only the “Preaching of the Cross” will make the difference.

As you can imagine I am writing this Word of the Day on a computer, which is nothing special since that is how write these days. But it carries an annoying challenge with which we have to deal every time software companies decide that we need to upgrade to new Windows or a new word-processing program.

Payne Chapel AME in Kenton will be conducting its annual "Home Coming" with a weekend celebration on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, the church will hold a "Celebration Dinner" at Memorial Park Clubhouse beginning at 6 p.m.
