The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 215 E. North St., Kenton, will be holding its annual summer festival on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. with plenty of food and entertainment for all.

Kenton Full Gospel Church will hold its annual picnic from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8 at the Hardin County Fairgrounds shelter house. Everyone is invited; the only requirement is to bring a covered dish. Everything else will be provided.

In the Broadway musical The Music Man (premiered December, 1957. Meredith Wison), traveling salesman Harold Hill tries to scam the people of River City into paying for band instruments they would never receive. Then Hill, as he had always done before, would skip town with the cash.

Trinity United Presbyterian and First Reformed Church will host a Neighborhood Block Party for the neighborhood surrounding the two churches in Kenton. The Neighborhood Block Party will be held in the First Reformed Church parking lot and on the lawn of Trinity Presbyterian from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8.

Pastor Beverly Smith will be the speaker at the monthly meeting of Lima Aglow International on Thursday, Aug. 13 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Church of the Good Shepherd, 224 S. Elm St., Columbus Grove. Registration at the door is $4.

CAREY — The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey invites everyone to join it for the annual novena to Our Lady of Consolation in preparation for the feast of her Assumption, Aug. 6-14. The annual celebration of Mary’s Assumption into heaven is the largest event at the shrine.
