Ada man rejects plea deal in sex case

An Ada man facing sexual charges involving a minor has rejected a final offer in plea negotiations with the prosecutor’s office, opening the way for his trial to begin on Tuesday. Dennis Dellifield, 415 Willeke Avenue, Ada, is facing two charges each of attempted pandering obscenity involving a minor, a felony of the third degree; attempted pandering obscenity involving a minor (F5); attempted illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material (F3) and attempted illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material of performance, a misdemeanor in the first degree.

Kenton man identified as a Tier 1 sexual offender

A Kenton man has been identified as a Tier I sexual offender after he admitted to having sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl. According to court records from Prosecutor Brad Bailey’s office, Robert R. Jones, 15676 CR 115, Kenton, pleaded guilty to one charge of importuning and Judge Scott Barrett sentenced him to 30 days of local incarceration.

Clerk of Court gives report for 2017

Carrie L Haudenschield, Hardin County Clerk of Courts, has released an account of transactions from her offices for 2017. Legal Department: A total of 2,306 new cases were filed: 172 civil includes 81 foreclosures, 131 domestics, 180 criminal includes bind overs from Hardin County Municipal Court and search warrants, 1,398 judgment liens, 23 court of appeals, 402 miscellaneous cases includes 98 notary certificates.

Court of Appeals to hear two cases at ONU

ADA —The Ohio 3rd District Court of Appeals will hear oral arguments in two cases at Ohio Northern University’s Pettit College of Law at 10 a.m. on Jan. 9 in the Large Moot Court Room. The oral arguments will be held before a three-judge panel consisting of Judges Stephen R. Shaw, Vernon L. Preston, John R. Willamowski or William R. Zimmerman. Shaw, Willamowski and Zimmerman are Ohio Northern University law alumni.
