MARION — The Agatha Christie murder mystery, “The Mousetrap,” will be presented this weekend in the May Pavilion at the Marion Palace Theatre. It will be staged Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

BLUFFTON — Bluffton University will host a concert featuring its Jazz Ensemble and Gospel Choir at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 in Yoder Recital Hall. The performance is free and open to the public; an offering will be taken during intermission for music scholarships.

BLUFFTON — Tickets are available for the Bluffton University Artist Series performance by the Walt Weiskopf Quartet at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 17 in Yoder Recital Hall. Saxophonist, composer and author Walt Weiskopf has made an impressive mark as both a leader and sideman with over a dozen critically acclaimed albums and countless sideman credits.

The Ada High School Marching Band earned first place in Class C Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Buckeye Invitational, a high school band competition sponsored by the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA). It is hosted by The Ohio State University Marching Band and takes place in Ohio Stadium.

ADA -- The Ohio Northern University Department of Theatre Arts will present “The Shape of Things,” a classic contemporary play by Neil LaBute, Oct. 27-30 in the Stambaugh Studio Theatre in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.

ADA -- The group Another Round will headline a concert at 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24 in the McIntosh Center Bear Cave at Ohio Northern University. The concert is part of the “History of Rock ‘n’ Roll in the 1960s” course this fall, which explores history through the lens of rock music.

MARION — The Marion Palace Theatre offers theatre-goers a diverse entertainment schedule this fall. This weekend, patrons will have the opportunity to attend two events.

ADA — The Ohio Northern University Opera Workshop will present an evening of opera scenes and arias at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23 in the Presser Hall Snyder Recital Hall. The scenes and arias will be staged and costumed.

ADA — Several Ohio Northern University choral groups will perform in the traditional Choral Collage concert at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21 in the Presser Hall Snyder Recital Hall. The inaugural concert of the season will feature the Women’s Chorus, the Men’s Chorus, the University Singers and the Chamber Singers singing pieces by Mendelssohn, Thompson, Byrd, Rutter and others.

Area residents will have a chance to get their fill of food and football this evening on Kenton’s downtown square. The Buckeye Bash will feature 12 food trucks/trailers staged around the square for the tailgate portion of the festivities beginning at 5 p.m. Shortly after 8 p.m., the Ohio State-Wisconsin football game will be telecast under the stars on a jumbo screen.
