ADA – The Ada Board of Education heard updates from the district’s administrators at the regular board meeting on Thursday. Robin VanBuskirk, director of teaching and learning, reported that grade cards will be going home today.

Officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at 355 S. High St. The vehicle is a maroon 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. The department was made aware of a wanted person at Rush Trailer Park Lot 40.

Senator Rob McColley, R-Napoleon, is joined by his wife Denise and daughter Anna as he takes the oath of office for Ohio’s 133rd General Assembly from Ohio Supreme Court Justice Judith L. French. He is serving his first full four-year term as senator for Ohio’s 1st Senate District, which includes Hardin County.

A trash-hauling truck from SV&E Refuse was eastbound on County Road 110 Wednesday afternoon when it struck the main support girders for the overhead trestle, just north of Kenton, according to the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office.

LIMA — Carrie Woodruff, SNS, Food Service Director of Lima City Schools, is the 2019 recipient of the Foodservice Achievement Management Excellence (FAME) Silver Special Achievement Award. Woodruff, of Ada, will receive her award at the FAME award ceremony on Jan. 13 at the JW Marriott in Austin, Texas during the School Nutrition Association’s 2019 School Nutrition Industry Conference.

DOLA — The Hardin Northern Board of Education selected Chris Rodabaugh as its president for 2019. Kenny Hopson was elected vice president and Sara Stewart was named the board's treasure pro temp. Kathy Schroeder and Rodabaugh were appointed to the finance committee. Hopson and Rodabaugh were named to serve on the facilities committee.

The Upper Scioto Valley Board of Education will hold its re-organizational meeting followed by the regular January meeting on Monday, Jan. 14 at 6 p.m. in the board room at the school.

Officers were dispatched to an apartment in the B building of 398 E. Forest Road in reference to a domestic situation. A report of unwanted persons was received from 398 E. Forest Road Apt. 46-E.
