Ridgemont students create future city for competition

MOUNT VICTORY — Seventh-graders at Ridgemont offered their view of what a city in America might look like 100 years from now. The six students – Mason Stuck, Lane Underwood, Landon Newland, Ashtin Elliott, Lily James and Adaline Buckenroth – created a functioning city for the Future City Building competition held Jan. 14 at Columbus State Community College.

The Hardin County Sheriff is encouraging residents to be vigilant in their daily lives following a report of a woman being sexually assaulted by an unknown man Thursday evening. Kenton man given community control

A Kenton man was placed on community control for five years after he pleaded guilty to charges in a case heard in Hardin County Common Pleas Court. According to court records from Prosecutor Brad Bailey’s office, Kyle Devin Brummage, also known as Kyle Devan Brumage and Kyle Devin Kemmere, 371 W. Espy St., Kenton, was found guilty of one count each of burglary, petty theft and receiving stolen property.

Ohio Northern grad makes lead gift to engineering project

ADA -- In keeping with the spirit of a capital campaign at his alma mater, Craig O. Pierson and his wife, Kay, of Bowling Green, have made an impact on future students at Ohio Northern University and his profession through a recent lead gift to the university’s “Campaign for Engineering: Building Impact at ONU,” an endeavor to fund a new building for the T.J. Smull College of Engineering.

Kenton police Harold W. Lease, 398 E. Forest Road Apt. 83H, reported a theft from his residence. Hardin County Dispatch reported an unresponsive male at 228 S. Leighton St. A scam was reported from 315 Seton Kenton Apartments. Bobby Scott, 980 Meadow Lane Apt. 27, was issued a summons for theft.

Alger residents learn of plans to replace natural gas lines

ALGER — The streets in Alger will be a mess for a few months, but representatives of Columbia Gas assured residents the inconveniences will not last long and will be worth the wait. Emily Kizer, external affairs specialist for Columbia Gas of Ohio, vowed the streets and lawns throughout the village will be restored to their original condition once the company replaces the aging mains and service lines in the village.
