Last week a disturbing video of a twelve-year-old girl, Janissa Valdez, being body slammed by a Texas school police officer was released on the Internet. This shocking video spread rapidly through the Internet causing investigations to ignite.

To the editor: Wanted – a few good men and women who have served overseas in combat situations or in support of our troops to join a great and prestigious organization called the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6817 of Mt. Victory, Ohio.

To the editor: One choice can create a wide ripple of change, much like the decision to be an organ, eye and tissue donor. Each time an individual is able to generously share the gift of life: a person is healed; a family is preserved; a friendship is extended; and the world is changed forever.

To the editor: I would like to put my two cents worth in on a two subjects that seem to be in the news on a daily basis; gun control and the legalization of marijuana.

To the editor: The tragedy that unfolded in San Bernardino, Calif., on Dec. 2 is difficult to comprehend.

I have had the privilege of being asked if I would write this letter telling you readers about Hardin Leadership. I can honestly say I didn’t even hesitate. Yes! When you believe highly in something, it’s easy to talk about, so here goes.

To the editor: As I sit here pondering over the last year, I think of all I’ve got to be grateful for.

I have been fortunate to work with the Ridgemont Board of Education for five and a half years. I believe it is important for us to continue to publicly acknowledge the work of Ridgemont’s Board of Education during January which is Board Member Recognition Month.

It has come to our attention that a few business owners around the historic courthouse district are showing concern about problems from the trees which currently beautify the landscape of the area.
