County sees hike in disease cases Hardin County registered a 28.7 percent increase in communicable disease cases from 2016 to 2017, according to the annual disease report presented to the Kenton-Hardin Board of Health on Tuesday night. Teen testifies about father’s plan to burn down home of man’s estranged wife A Hardin County teenager told a jury on Monday how his father plotted and attempted to carry out plans to burn down his stepmother’s rural Dunkirk home last August. During the opening day of a trial for Gerrick “Tony” Sheldon, Hardin County prosecutor Brad Bailey said if it would not have been for the quick thinking of his 16-year-old son Garrett, Tony Sheldon may have carried out a plan to burn down the County Road 60 residence of his estranged wife, Danielle, possibly killing her and another occupant inside the home.
