Grant supports program to address teen drinking in county

The Hardin County Commissioners were updated on a new program designed to address the issue of teen drinking in the county. The young people who reported drinking at some point in their lives in the county usually start drinking alcohol when they are 13 years old, said Robin Oates, Project Director for the Hardin County Coalition To Prevent Substance Abuse.

Roads opening and closing

The Hardin County Engineer’s Office announced it has reopened County Road 90 between Ohio 235 and County Road 45 after it was closed for culvert replacement. It was also announced Hale Township Road 217 will be closed for five weeks between County Roads 200 and 230 for bridge replacement.

Ada pool renovations progressing, but not as fast as hoped, administrator

ADA — The Ada pool project is progressing, according to Village Administrator Jamie Hall, but a number of recent change orders have come up requiring extra expenses. During Hall’s report to council, there have so far been three official change orders approved: a $1,200 for masonary issues, $200 to change the 8-foot wide gates to 10 feet, and $200 to fix a found welding issue.
