Bassmasters have big day on Lake Erie The Trophy Bassmasters continued their 2019 fishing season as they traveled to West Harbor on Lake Erie for one of the most anticipated events of the year. For one tournament a year the club uses the same scoring system as the popular Major League Fishing series on TV. Every bass 12 inches and over is recorded and scored then immediately released during the tournament day giving each angler unlimited numbers they are allowed to catch and count toward their daily total. Soroptimist club learns about Heartbeat of Hardin County The Kenton/Hardin County Soroptimist Club met Thursday, June 6 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Kenton. President Laura Ferguson called the meeting to order at 6 p.m. with a welcome of 14 members in attendance plus two guests. Buck Township trustees hear pros and cons of trucking project; to decide June 27 Experts on the dangers of hazardous materials presented testimony Monday night to the Buck Township trustees that the transloading station proposed for development in the township would pose minimal risk to its neighbors. The majority of the estimated 50 people who attended the special meeting in Veterans Hall at the Hardin County Courthouse were not residents of the township and spoke in support of the jobs the business would generate for the community.
