MOUNT VICTORY — There will be a Victory Gospel concert from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 21 at the Mount Victory Community Center (at the park), 234 N. Washington St., Mount Victory. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. The program will have the 441 Gospel Quartet, the Believe Trio and Chris Horne. Former Mount Victory resident and librarian Cindy Zachman is one of the Believe Trio singers.

The former Henry's Restaurant at the north edge of Kenton will become home to a Raphie's restaurant. It is expected to open this fall. Rob Armstrong, of Bennett Enterprises, a Perrysburg-based hospitality company, announced Thursday the firm has signed a lease on the North Detroit Street building where it will open its eighth Ralphie’s restaurant.

In recognition of National Nursing Home Week, the Hardin County commissioners served cake and ice cream to the residents of the Hardin Hills Health Center Thursday. But as sweet as the dessert was, it paled in comparison to what the county leaders dished out afterwards for the county home staff.

The Hardin County Community Foundation awarded $157,698 in grants and scholarships during its annual Grant Celebration on Thursday at the Hardin County Armory in Kenton. The grants were presented to 137 community/civic organizations, along with funds for five scholarships.

MOUNT VICTORY — A musical about the competition taking place in a spelling bee was popular with the judges from the Hardin County Players. On Thursday, they named Riverdale's "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" its high school production of the year at the 2019 TAB (Take A Bow) Award Ceremony.

Meri Skilliter, board president for the Hardin Community School and superintendent of Ada Schools, shared six universal life lessons with the community school’s class of 2019 at their graduation ceremony at the Kenton Moose Lodge on Thursday.

BOWLING GREEN — With all three of its competitors bowing out in the first round, the Ada tennis team didn’t have the type of day it wanted Thursday at the Division III district tournament at Bowling Green State University. Even so, Bulldog mentor Cody Hurley said his returning players picked up valuable experience in the competition.

FINDLAY — Several individuals and a pair of area relay teams punched their tickets to next week’s regional track meet during district competition in Findlay on Thursday. Riverdale’s Tayler Ashburn advanced with a second place finish in the high jump. Her leap of 5-0 was only topped by Arlington’s Hannah Willow, who had a jump of 5-6. Hardin Northern’s Renee Newton also earned a regional spot in the high jump with a leap of 4-10 for a fourth place effort.

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan baseball team gave Springfield Northwestern an extra out in the bottom of the second inning and it proved costly for the Raiders in a 4-1 Southwest District sectional loss to the Warriors on Thursday afternoon.
