The Kenton Board of Education heard more success stories from the student internship program, Wildcat Community Connectors. This year the program had about 20 Kenton High School students working as interns in such areas as agriculture, dentistry, engineering, electricity and machinery, said Christina Cross, a KHS government teacher who oversees the WCC.

DOLA — Grace Monin had three home runs and drove in eight runs to lead Sidney Lehman Catholic to a 16-5 win over Hardin Northern in a Northwest Central Conference softball game on Monday. Angela Brunner added five hits with a home run and three RBIs for the Cavaliers, who led 2-0 after one inning and 4-1 after three frames before scoring four runs in the third.

DOLA — Lehman Catholic used a seven-run third inning to take control on the way to an 18-0 five-inning win over Hardin Northern in a Northwest Central Conference baseball game on Monday afternoon. The visiting Cavaliers led 2-0 before the seven-run outburst.

The Kenton FFA team competed in many different activities during a Career Development Event.

Each September, people gather from throughout Hardin County to compete in a variety of contests and events. There are competitions to select the best hog in the county. There are contests to determine which rose or wooden carving is the best for that year.

ADA — While Jeff Oestreich may not be a preacher, he’s able to share his faith another way – through song. Jeff has been a member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church’s praise team, Calvary’s Promise, since 2001.

To celebrate the 80th birthday of the women’s educator society Delta Kappa Gamma, members reached into history to bring back a popular children’s author. Laura Ingalls Wilder, writer of the Little House on the Prairie book series, was brought to life in a program Saturday morning at the Kenton Elks.

All the members of the Kenton Top Twenty were invited to attend the ONU performance of Young Frankenstein on Saturday, April 13. This performance was directed and choreographer by James Gray who worked on the original Broadway performance. ADA — Host Ada swept Upper Scioto Valley 5-2, 20-14 in a non-league baseball doubleheader at War Memorial Park on Saturday. The Bulldogs got off to a strong start in game one, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning.

ADA — Ada swept a softball twinbill from Upper Scioto Valley by scores of 6-2 and 14-6 on Saturday afternoon. In game one, the Bulldogs answered a two-run USV first inning with four runs of their own and then held off the Rams the rest of the way before adding a pair of insurance runs in the sixth.
