Ada High School had two Winter Guard teams compete in the Winter Guard International, Flint Michigan Regional Competition Saturday March 9. Both guards earned the honor of participating in the finals held later that evening.

Members of the Ada Kiwanis Club met on Tuesday, March 12 at noon in the Dean’s Heritage Room, McIntosh Center, Ohio Northern University campus, Ada. President Joe Ferguson presided at the meeting. Jon Umphress offered the invocation.

Chris Kurt – known by some locally as “the strawberry guy” – is back in his home community, but it’s not to sell strawberries. For just over two weeks now, Chris has been serving as the President and CEO of Home Savings & Loan Co.

DOLA — Hardin Northern Elementary honored its Students of the Month for February. The honored students are: Kindergarten – Avery Ayers, Tyson Bell, Mason Blair, Chris Gault, Ryker Kindle, Brandon Fall, Zayden Good, Braxton Mullett, Lily Valentine and Kendrix Zitter

State Rep. Jon Cross presented amendments to the Ohio transportation bill this spring which would have adopted statewide regulations for animal-pulled vehicles, such as Amish buggies. The new regulation proposed by Cross stated, " No person shall operate an animal-drawn vehicle in this state on any public road or highway unless the animal-drawn vehicle is registered in accordance with rules adopted under this section."

Harco Industries sponsored its second annual Senior Lucky Bingo luncheon at its Kenton facility on Friday. Senior citizens from throughout Hardin County celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with games and prizes donated by area businesses and supporters. Over the past four years Hayden Hicks put the ball in the net more than anyone else in Kenton High School boys soccer history. Next year the Wildcats’ top goal scorer will look to begin making history at the college level at the University of Northwestern Ohio in Lima.
