Hardin Hills resident Alice Hicks sits proudly with her daughter Reba Long as they watch Hanna and Heather Abdalla (great-granddaughters of Alice) play guitar and sing for her. Residents heard the beautiful voices and came to gather and sing along.

A $500 grant from Mid-Ohio Energy Cooperative was awarded to the Hardin County YMCA for its summer camp programs. Among the camps made possible was ballet camp.

The Bloom family of Kenton was recognized with the Mayor’s Award at the Western Ohio Aquatic League swim meet this past weekend. The award has been presented annually since 1975 by the members of the WOAL to a person or persons that had shown a spirit of volunteerism and dedication to the activities of the Lima area swim programs, including not only the summer W.O.A.L., but high school, YMCA and U.S.A./Lima Area Team activities as well.

Members of local 4-H clubs were selected to advance their equine projects to state competition recently.
