ADA — ReStore is inviting people who have lost loved ones to bond during a monthly dinner at its Ada store. The idea for the Bereavement Dinners, said Director Rob Kanzig, came when a man came into the thrift store last summer to seek help for his wife who was fighting the last stages of cancer.

RIDGEWAY — Cole McKinley led the way as host Ridgemont held on for a 12-11 win over Mansfield Christian in a Division IV sectional baseball contest on Tuesday. The Gophers, who improve to 9-12 on the season, advance to face Seneca East in the sectional finals at Seneca East at 5 p.m. Friday.

ADA — Ada scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a tie game and pull away for a 10-5 softball win over McComb in regular season action on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs collected 15 hits in the game led by Sydney Newland and Sidney Gossard, who both had three hits with a double and three RBIs.

RIDGEWAY — An explosion woke the neighborhood on East Hale Street in Ridgeway on Monday night. At about 10 p.m., said Ridgeway Fire Chief Jim Newland, the blast awakened the family of Jason Parker at 279 E. Hale, along with his neighbors.

RIDGEWAY — Kylie Turner’s three-run home run in the first inning was all Ridgemont needed Monday night as the Gophers held off Waynesfield-Goshen 3-2 in a sectional semifinal matchup.

UPPER SANDUSKY — Ada swept all three singles matches on the way to a 4-1 tennis win over Upper Sandusky on Monday afternoon. The Bulldogs did not surrender a game in singles play as Zach Beaschler defeated Clay Burger 6-0, 6-0; Cade Mullins was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Landon Ramos and Isaac Spar topped Justin Blackburn 6-0, 6-0.
