Members of the Benjamin Logan FFA Officer Team joined more than 100 FFA members from six counties to participate in the Fall District Officer Training at Greenon High School on Oct. 3. The students went through a series of sessions emphasizing leadership, the focus of FFA, and how the FFA has changed and progressed through the years.

The Kenton Elks Lodge honored two Teenagers of the Month from each of the five Hardin County schools at a luncheon Thursday at the lodge.

The Kenton boys soccer team did all it could to try and get at least a share of the Western Buckeye League title on Thursday night. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, Ottawa-Glandorf was unable to pull off an upset of Elida as Kenton will have to settle for second place in the WBL after its 4-0 win over Bath.

The Trophy Bassmasters competed in the next to last regular club tournament recently on Delaware Reservoir. This was originally scheduled as Alum Creek but was flip-flopped because the original Delaware tournament was scheduled for July 19 when the reservoir was nine feet high and closed to the public.

Jack Jeffery, president of the Ada Kiwanis Club, conducted the club’s second meeting of the 2017-2018 Kiwanis year on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at noon in the Dean’s Heritage Room, McIntosh Center, Ohio Northern University. The invocation was offered by Jon Umphress.

Jamie Pugh, of Trisco Systems, Inc. of Lima, prepares an opening of the terrace wall at the courthouse for a replacement stone slab. Trisco is replacing several of the stones on the terrace walls as part of a refurbishing project.
