ADA — Gabi Rodriguez had three goals and two assists and Kelsey Corbin and Katie Benitez added two tallies each as Riverdale ran past Ada 11-0 in North Central Ohio girls soccer action on Wednesday. The Falcons, who improve to 4-1-1 on the season and 2-0 in NCOSA play, scored six goals in the first half, including two each by Rodriguez and Corbin.

Connor Bookmyer may only be one-year-old, but he knows how to have fun at the Hardin County Fair as he toddles through a colorful tunnel at the Hardin County Healthy Lifestyles obstacle course in the Community Building. Connor is the son of John and Amanda Bookmyer of Kenton.

Hardin County Fair Board President Howard Lyle (right) presents Ray Davis with a plaque in honor Davis being named the honoree of this year’s fair. Davis was recognized for the honor after he announced his retirement from the board after 37 years of service and countless hours of volunteering.

Comstock, who presents the annual fireworks display at the July 4th celebration at the fairgrounds honored the couple for their dedication to the event.

The Kenton-OHP FFA chapter held its first meeting of the year on Aug. 28 at Kenton High School. There were 71 members and several parents present.

The annual class party of Kenton High School Class of 1966 was held Sunday, Sept. 3 at the Memorial Park Clubhouse. Twenty-five classmates gathered to celebrate their 51st year since graduation.

The Kenton girls tennis team swept the three singles matches as the Lady Wildcats topped Van Wert 3-2 for their first WBL win of the season. The Wildcats are 4-6 for the season and have won more matches now than all of last season.

Shawnee defeated Kenton 164-180 in a Western Buckeye League golf match on Tuesday afternoon at Memorial Park Golf Course. Peyton Roby carded a 43 to lead the way for the Wildcats.
