Sherman left Goshen Township family farm to fight Germans For 90 of his 92 years of life, Eldon Sherman has lived on his family farm in Goshen Township. But the two years he spent away from home were an experience which is still vivid in his mind. The Ohio farm boy found himself fighting the German Army in the final days of World War II and was speeding his way to help invade Japan when the war came to an end. Read More
Hughes to continue being educator While Robin Hughes may be moving on from teaching technology at Kenton Elementary School, she’s hoping it won’t be her last stop as an educator in the field. Hughes is retiring as the elementary school’s technology integration teacher, a role she has served in the district for the past five years. Her first two years on the job were at both Espy and Northwood prior to the new school’s construction. Read More

USV’s Carey wins regional title; Richardson, Cromer advance TIFFIN — Upper Scioto Valley's Megan Carey claimed the only first place finish among area girls on Friday at the Division III regional track and field meet in Tiffin. The USV junior raced to first in the 100 meter hurdles in a 15.30 seconds, qualifying for a spot in her second consecutive state track meet. Read More
BL’s Rockhold to play softball at Muskingum BELLEFONTAINE — Darian Rockhold has been playing softball for most of her life, including the past four springs as a standout third baseman for Ben Logan. The Raider senior will continue her career after graduating this week as she recently signed a National Letter of Intent to play for Muskingum University. Read More
