Polar Bears top Vanlue at home

DOLA — Hardin Northern pulled away from Vanlue in the second quarter and cruised to a 59-31 victory in nonconference girls basketball Wednesday night. The Polar Bears (6-4) led 10-8 after the first quarter, 27-16 at halftime and 38-25 after three quarters.

Polar Bears bested in invite title game

ROCKFORD — Fairlawn took a nine-point lead after the first quarter Wednesday night and went on to defeat Hardin Northern 74-55 in boys basketball action at the Chatt Insurance Holiday Invitational. Fairlawn outscored the Polar Bears 23-14 in the first quarter.

Leipsic defeats Riverdale by 20

LEIPSIC — Three players scored in double figures for Riverdale, but the Falcons were outdone in bookend quarters of a 62-42 Blanchard Valley Conference boys basketball loss at Leipsic on Wednesday. Noah Hough led Riverdale (3-5, 0-3 BVC) with 12 points, and Tommy Dusseau and Jackson Hankins each scored 11.

Bulldogs grab 14-point victory

ADA — After Fort Jennings all but erased Ada’s early lead Tuesday night, the Bulldogs took control and cruised to a 67-53 nonconference boys basketball victory. Ada led 15-8 after the first quarter, but Fort Jennings scored the first six points of the second quarter to pull to within one point a little more than a minute into the frame.

Drumm helps HN win in tournament

ROCKFORD — After having trouble scoring in the second quarter Tuesday night, Storm Drumm came up big in the third quarter for Hardin Northern. Drumm scored nine of his team-high 18 points in the third period as the Polar Bears overcame a halftime deficit and held on for a 49-47 victory over Parkway in boys basketball play at the Chatt Insurance Holiday Tournament.

Eversole shoots Gophers to road win

FOSTORIA — Ridgemont got a big boost from one of its three seniors Tuesday night. Corey Eversole scored 30 points as the Gophers dominated the first half and defeated St. Wendelin 78-47 in nonconference boys basketball.

Raiders fall to LTC

LIMA — Lima Temple Christian took a six-point lead over Ben Logan after the first quarter and steadily built on that advantage for a 75-57 victory Tuesday in nonconference boys basketball.
