‘Cats host Sawnee in homecoming battle

After getting a big lift with a hard-fought 35-27 win over Van Wert last Friday, the Kenton football team hopes to make it two in a row when the Wildcats host Shawnee in a homecoming matchup on Friday night. Both teams look to even their WBL marks as the Wildcats enter the game with a 2-4 overall slate and a 2-3 WBL record, while Shawnee is 3-3 and 2-3.

Kenton Ridge rallies past Ben Logan, 2-1

SPRINGFIELD — George Kern’s 23rd goal of the season gave the Ben Logan boys soccer team an early lead against Kenton Ridge on Wednesday night. The Cougars, however, rallied with two goals late in the first half and then held on in the second 40 minutes for a 2-1 win over the Raiders in the Central Buckeye Conference match.

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan Middle School volleyball teams won their Central Buckeye Conference tournament openers on Wednesday night as both squads defeated Tecumseh. The seventh grade Raiders won in three sets 18-25, 25-13, 25-17.

‘Cats pull golf games together at right time

A week ago, the members of Kenton golf team thought that when sectional play concluded they would be packing up their clubs for the winter. The Wildcats surprised even themselves though as they put together their best 18-hole team round of the year to qualify for the Division II district tournament on Thursday at Red Hawk Run Golf Course just outside of Findlay.
