RAWSON — Drew Fry and Jackson Clark netted three goals each as Riverdale defeated Cory-Rawson 12-0 in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association matchup on Thursday. Also scoring for the Falcons were Tom Miller, Matt Mason, Tyler Hart, Logan Frey, Mitchell O’ Flaherty and Mike Hough.

DEFIANCE — Host Defiance swept Kenton 25-10, 25-10, 25-17 in a Western Buckeye League volleyball match on Thursday night. Jenna Manns had 9 digs and 7 assists and Chesney Moore chipped in with 7 digs and 5 assists to lead the Wildcats.

Wapakoneta defeated Kenton 190-243 in a Western Buckeye League girls golf matchup on Thursday afternoon at Memorial Park Golf Course. Eden Cronley shot a 56 to lead the Lady Wildcats. She was followed by Anna Longbrake with a 59, Grace Hattery with a 62, Kennedie Farthing 66, Abi Mustain 77 and Lily James 78.

The Kenton Middle School volleyball teams swept Ridgemont on Thursday night. The eighth grade Wildcats won 25-19, 25-10.

An unwanted person was reported at 104 Broadway St. A domestic altercation was reported in the 600 block of N. Main Street. An on-station report of harassment was received.

Jared Lehman says the Hardin County YMCA needs to do more to promote its facilities and mission to the community. He said people need to “realize the gem” they have in the YMCA in Kenton.

Last week the Kenton football team rebounded from a season-opening loss with a big win over Bath. On Friday the Wildcats look to build on that momentum when they travel to Celina for week two of the Western Buckeye League schedule.
