3rd Punky’s Pace 5K to be held July 6

RIDGEWAY — The third annual Punky’s Pace 5K run/walk will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 6 behind the old Ridgemont High School near the track and football field. Registration and packet pick-up is from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. The cost for pre-registraion is $25. Those pre-registered are guaranteed a shirt. The registration form must be postmarked by June 14. After June 14 through the day of the race the cost is $30 and a shirt is not guaranteed. Awards will be given to the top overall make and female and top masters male and female. Participants finishing in the top three in each male and female age group also will receive awards.

Little league: May 31, 2019

The second farm Indians defeated the Marlins 21-5 in Kenton Little League second farm play no Thursday. Leading the way for the Indians was Domanic Sloan and Braylen Miller with a home runs and 2 singles each. Jayce Bordner and Eliannah Miller both added a double and 2 singles; Tatum Dale, Solomon Petty, and Brendan Potter all had 3 singles; Nolan Asman had a triple and a single; Emma kaylor, Stewart Kaylor, and Mya Hunsaker all had 2 singles and Lucas Getz had a single.

Riverdale hands out boys track awards

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The athletes on the Riverdale track team received special awards during a program on Tuesday night. Receiving the awards as the team MVP was Eli Weber. Caleb McCoey took home plaques for most points in running events and the Falcon Award.

The winning team in the 15th annual Hardin County Golf Foundation Memorial Tournament was Jeff Flemming, Kyle Linke, Chris LaRue and Andrew Hobensack at Veteran’s Memorial Golf Course in Kenton with a 17 under par 55. Finishing second at 59 was the team of Britton Hensel, Don Dodds, Eric Henley and Randy Comer and taking third was the quartet of David Bettinger, Bob Osbun, Jordy Johnson and Russ Wallace, who also had a 59.

Trio of Raiders place at DII regional track meet

PIQUA — No area athletes were able to qualify for the Division II state meet on the second day of regional competition at Piqua on Saturday. Ben Logan had the only placers for the day as Cole Bibart and Marshall Jackson both had top eight efforts in the shot put. Bibart finished sixth with a top throw of 59-7 3/4, while Jackson was eighth with a top toss of 47-10 1/4.
