BL outshoots Indian Lake

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan boys golf team defeated Indian Lake 178-187 at Cherokee Hills on Tuesday. For the Raiders, Ethan Ricketts led the way with a 38. He was followed by Alex Naragon with a 45, Jacob Mitchell with a 47, Bryce Loomis and Aiden Elsass with 48s and Trey Allen with a 51. For the JVs, Carston McCain led the way with a 53.

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan girls golf team shot a score of 164 to win a quad match with Graham, Indian Lake and Northwestern at Liberty Hills on Tuesday. Sydney Wesson carded a 36 to lead the Lady Raiders and earn medalist honors. Mailiis Simovart added 37 for Ben Logan, while Willow Titus had a 44, Gabrielle Schmidt a 47 …

Ada golf 3rd in tri-match

BLUFFTON — The Ada golf team fell to Bluffon and Paulding in a Northwest Conference golf tri-match on Tuesday at the Bluffton Golf Course. Bluffton shot a team score of 179, while Paulding was next at 190 and Ada was third with a 209.

Tommy Mustain and Maddux McFarlin competed in the Dave Staley Aquathlon and Youth Splash and Dash was held in Delaware at Minho Park on Saturday. Mustain (left) completed a 200 meter swim and 1 mile run in a time of 12:01. He was in the 11-15 year old age division.

Kenton golfers defeat Riverdale, Pandora

The Kenton boys golf team picked up a pair of wins on Monday at Memorial Park Golf Course, defeating Pandora-Gilboa and Riverdale. The Wildcats, led by Trey Jeffries’ 40, shot a team score of 179. Ethan Wirbel and Lucas Hites added 46s and Noah Ketcham contributed with a 47.

Fairbanks tops Raiders on the golf course

MARYSVILLE — The Ben Logan boys golf team dropped a match to Fairbanks Monday 165-183 at Darby Creek. For the Raiders Ethan Ricketts led the way with a 41 followed by Alex Naragon with a 44. Other scores were Trey Allen with a 48 and Jacob Mitchell and Aiden Elsass with 52s. Bryce Loomis rounded out the varsity with a 56.

Swing thoughts: August 13, 2019

The weekly winner in the Tuesday Senior League at Memorial Park Golf Course was Lanny Dillon. Second place went to Karl McNeal and there was a three-way tie for third between Mike Fink, Norm Newman and Marv Sallee. There is no change in the overall leadership with Norm Newman leading, Doug Camper second and Doug Roberts third.

The Kenton football team opened the playing portion of its schedule with a scrimmage against Lima Senior on Saturday. Above, Landon Rush stretches to make a catch, while at the right a pair of Wildcat players combine to make a tackle as the Kenton coaching staff looks on.
