Hardin Northern takes care of P-G in 10-4 win

PANDORA — Holding on to a 3-1 lead, the Hardin Northern Polar Bears came up big with a five-run fourth inning to help dispatch Pandora-Gilboa 10-4 in Saturday’s baseball contest. Owen Wetherill and Daylin Pees each drove in two runs and had two hits including a double for the Polar Bears. Zach Kurtz also drove in two runs and had a hit.

Early runs propel USV to 11-7 victory over W-G

McGUFFEY — An eight-run second inning helped propel the Upper Scioto Valley Rams to an 11-7 softball victory over Northwest Central Conference foe Waynesfield-Goshen on Saturday. Leading the Rams at the plate was Rylee Shepherd who was 3 for 4 and drove in two RBIs. Graesan Evans also drove in two had a single. Hailey Martin had a pair of hits including a triple and scored one runner.

Lady Polar Bears soar past Rockets 24-4

DOLA — The Hardin Nothern Polar Bears shot out of the gate against Pandora-Gilboa on Saturday, scoring 11 in the first inning to set the tone for the rest of the contest and helping them to a 24-4 softball win. The Polar Bears didn’t slow down after the first, scoring four and six runs in the next two innings to go up 21-2.

USV baseball rallies for 6-3 victory over W-G

McGUFFEY — Facing a one-run deficit in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Upper Scioto Valley Rams rallied for four runs to gain a 6-3 baseball victory over Northwest Central Conference opponent Waynesfield-Goshen on Saturday. The win improves the Rams to 2-5 overall, 1-1 in the NWCC.

Middle school: April 8, 2019

The Kenton Middle School seventh grade team swept the Buckeye Valley seventh graders in a doubleheader on Saturday, earning 8-1 and 10-7 victories. In the first contest, Kenton started strong with a pair of runs before adding another in the third.

Ridgemont softball downs Lady Bulldogs 8-5

ADA — A three-run fifth inning helped propel the Ridgemont Golden Gophers to an 8-5 softball win over the Ada Bulldogs on Friday. The Gophers got things started in the first inning when Emma Smith smacked a double on the first pitch of her at-bat, scoring one run for her team.

ADA — Phillip Coulson pitched his Ada Bulldogs to a 5-0 shutout win over Ridgemont on Friday by striking out eight batters and surrendering just four hits in a complete game effort.
