Wildcats rally comes up short in 58-52 WBL loss to Elida

ELIDA — Trailing Elida by 11 points early in the fourth quarter of Friday night’s boys basketball game, the Kenton Wildcats were determined not to let the game get away from them. But after a 10-0 run by Kenton’s Jaron Sharp brought his team to within a point, some costly turnovers down the stretch proved too much for the Wildcats to overcome, falling 58-52.

Kenton rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit to take a three-point lead over Elida with seven minutes left in the game during the matchup of Western Buckeye League rivals on Thursday night. The Lady Wildcats could not sustain their momentum to the finish however as the visiting Bulldogs went on an 11-0 run and outscored Kenton 15-5 the rest of the way for a 46-39 victory.

Ft. Jennings rallies past Hardin Northern girls

DOLA — Fort Jennings rallied in the fourth quarter to slip past Hardin Northern 37-36 in a non-league girls basketball game on Thursday night. The Polar Bears led 14-12 after eight minutes and 20-17 at halftime. The score was 27-24 in favor of Hardin Northern after three quarters before the visiting Musketeers outscored the Polar Bears 13-9 in the fourth quarter.
