Sharp leads way as ‘Cats hold off Shawnee

LIMA — If Kenton quarterback Jaron Sharp still had any lingering effects of an injury suffered against St. Marys two weeks ago, he didn’t show them on Friday night. The senior was the star of the show on both sides of the ball, throwing for 208 yards with a pair of touchdown passes and running for another 175 yards and a pair of scores offensively, while intercepting two passes defensively to help the Wildcats hold off Shawnee 38-35 in the Western Buckeye League contest.

Riverdale outlasts N. Baltimore

NORTH BALTIMORE — After taking a 21-6 first quarter lead, Riverdale battled with North Baltimore in a shootout in the second quarter, taking the halftime lead 56-36. The Falcons managed to hold off the Tigers in the second half, outscoring them 21-6 through the final two quarters to earn the 77-42 win Friday night.

Crestview scores 51 in 1st half of rout of Ada

ADA — Facing a 20-0 first quarter deficit, Ada was unable to recover from Crestview’s early offense, falling 53-14 in Friday’s Northwest Conference contest. The loss drops the Bulldogs to 2-5 overall, 1-3 in the NWC. The Knights rise to 6-1, 3-1. A pair of first-quarter touchdown runs by Crestview quarterback Drew Kline put the Bulldogs behind the eight ball early, and Brody Brecht tacked on a third score for the Knights with just under five minutes to go in the quarter.
