Kenton spikers sweep Hardin Northern

Delivering the spike

Trailing Hardin Northern 24-20 in game one, the Kenton volleyball team could have conceded the Polar Bears the final point and gone into game two down a set. Instead the Lady Wildcats scrapped back to score six straight points to claim the first game and then carried the momentum through the next two games to sweep the visiting Polar Bears 26-24, 25-13, 25-21 in the battle of Hardin County rivals.

In the Monday Fall League at Memorial Park Golf Course the team of Brad Hanna, DeWayne Spencer, Jeff Butcher, Tom Taylor and Joni Rensing and the team of David Bettinger, Chris Rogers, Cole Weyant, Rick Brown and Tami McFadden are tied for first place with 11 under. Two teams are in second place with a 9 under.

Ada 1-2 in quad match

MINSTER — Ada went 1-2 defeating Botkins and falling to Minster and Marion Pleasant in a volleyball quad match on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs fell to Minster 25-19, 25-12 in their first match of the day.

DOLA — Trailing Riverside 33-28 and with their home crowd cheering them on, the Hardin Northern Polar Bears faced a 3rd and goal at the 6-yard line with under 20 seconds left on the clock. With a receiver in motion, quarterback Owen Wetherill faked the jet sweep and looked to pass.
