SPRINGFIELD — Northwestern edged Ben Logan 2-1 in a Central Buckeye Conference boys soccer match on Monday afternoon. George Kern scored the Raiders’ goal on a double assist from Rylan Studebaker and Dylan Welch.

The Kenton girls soccer team will host its sectional opener. The Wildcats, who were seeded No. 7, will play at Merold Field against No. 8 seeded Upper Sandusky at 7 p.m. Monday.

RIDGEWAY — Ridgemont avenged a loss to Kenton earlier in the day and defeated the Wildcats in a rematch 16-25, 27-25, 25-17 to claim the championship of the first Keegan McKee Memorial Tournament. The Gophers, who topped Upper Scioto Valley 25-15, 25-9 in their opening round match before falling to the Wildcats 20-25, 25-21, 25-21 in the their second match of the day, improve to 10-6 on the season.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale took a two-goal lead early in the second half and then held off Kenton the rest of the way for a 2-1 win in a non-conference girls soccer matchup on Saturday. Riverdale improves to 8-4-2 on the season, while the Wildcats drop to 8-6-2.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale and Milan Edison played to a 0-0 tie in boys non-conference soccer action on Saturday night. The game was called at halftime due to lightning and approaching storms.

ADA — Isaac Spar, Chris Reyes and Brendan Sheridan all had goals for Ada as the Bulldogs defeated Paulding 3-0 in a Northwest Conference boys soccer game on Saturday afternoon. Jon Allen added 2 assists for the Bulldogs, while Drew Hadley had 4 saves in goal.

In the Monday Fall League at Memorial Park Golf Course, the team of David Bettinger, Chris Rogers, Cole Weyant, Rick Brown and Tami McFadden hold the lead at 24-under par. The Brad Hanna team and Jordan Johnson team are battling for second place with a 22-under.
