McFadden leads ONU past Muskingum

ADA — Junior Anthony McFadden ran for a career-high 112 yards and threw for 223 yards and two touchdowns to lead Ohio Northern to a 42-14 victory over Muskingum on a rainy Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium. The Polar Bears (2-0 overall, 1-0 Ohio Athletic Conference) also got 81 yards rushing and a touchdown from sophomore A.J. Marks and 44 yards rushing and three touchdowns from freshman Brock Martin.

North Union spikes BL

North Union dealt Ben Logan its first Central Buckeye Conference volleyball loss of the season on Saturday, defeating the Raiders 25-23, 25-18, 20-25, 27-25 on Saturday. Sarah VanDyke had 9 kills, 4 blocks and 5 aces; Molly Vance added 10 kills and Bailey Shope recorded 9 kills, 19 digs and 2 blocks to lead the Raiders.

R’dale, Bluffton tie 2-2

BLUFFTON — Riverdale and Bluffton traded goals in each half as the teams played to a 2-2 tie in non-league girls soccer action on Saturday. Hanna Breidenbach scored both goals for the Falcons, who are now 4-1-2 on the season.

Archbold tops Falcons

MOUNT BLANCHARD  — Archbold defeated Riverdale 3-0 in a non-league boys soccer matchup on Saturday. The Falcons, who received 7 saves from goalkeeper Ethan Shane, were outshot 11-10 in the game. Elijah Zimmerman, Josh Kidder and Javier Peche netted goals for Archbold.

LCC rolls past Ada

LIMA — Ron Banks ran for three first half touchdowns and Nevan Stolly threw two touchdown passes as Lima Central Catholic routed Ada 43-20 in a non-league football game on Saturday night. The Thunderbird, who led 43-6 after returning the second half kickoff 74 yards for a touchdown, improve to 3-0 on the season.

Swing thoughts: September 10, 2018

There was a three-way tie for first place between Doug Camper, Mike Fink and Terry Nichols in weekly round play of the senior league at the Memorial Park Golf Course. Jerry Fraber was able to maintain his first place lead by a very narrow margin over second place finisher Doug Camper.
