Ben Logan ties Piqua 1-1 in consolation game

BELLEFONTAINE — Host Ben Logan and played to 1-1 tie in the consolation game of the Quest Cup tournament on Sunday. George Kern scored off a Rylan Studebaker assist in the 35th minute to give the Raiders the 1-0 lead at half time, but Piqua tied the game in the 50th minute and neither team was able to put the ball in the net the rest of the game.

Marion Harding defeated Kenton 5-0 in girls tennis action on Friday afternoon. In singles competition, Marion Harding's Maggie Pitts defeated Kenton's Mykaela Schriber 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 1 match; Nicole Flock bested Kenton's Kelsey Flowers 4-6, 6-3, 10-7 (super tie-breaker) and Tyler Simmers bettered the Wildcats’ Lily Osborn 6-0, 6-2.

Lady Wildcats claim tennis opener 4-1

MANSFIELD — The Kenton High School girls tennis team opened its season with a 4-1 victory over Mansfield St. Peter’s on Tuesday night. “We were really hoping to come out strong tonight to help build our teams confidence. We were able to do that and I was very happy with the shots and matchplay overall,” said Kenton Coach Katie Isenbarger.

Rams outshoot R’dale on the golf course

ARLINGTON — Brady Hipsher carded a 39 and earned medalist honors to lead the Upper Scioto Valley golf team to a 183-212 victory over Riverdale on Tuesday afternoon at Sycamore Springs. Tyler Gratz added a 47 for the Rams, while Dylan Thompson recorded a 48 and Jared Hunt a 49.
