Lady ‘Cats go cold in WBL loss to Van Wert

VAN WERT — Kenton’s shooters had trouble finding their range as the Wildcats fell to Van Wert 59-53 in overtime in a Western Buckeye League girls basketball contest on Thursday night. The Lady Wildcats led 22-21 at halftime before Van Wert outscored them 18-10 in the third stanza to grab a 39-32 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Fourth quarter rally lifts HN girls by Perry

DOLA — After scoring just one point in the first quarter and 11 in the half, Hardin Northern outscored Perry 24-4 in the final two quarters to earn their second girls basketball win of the season, 35-30, on Thursday night. Hardin Northern improves to 1-5 in the Northwest Central Conference and 2-14 overall.

Riverdale pulls away for win over McComb

McCOMB — Riverdale outscored host McComb in all four quarters on the way to a 51-36 Blanchard Valley Conference girls basketball victory on Thursday night. Lexie Wright had 14 points and 14 rebounds to lead the way for the Falcons, who led 11-6 after one quarter and 19-12 at halftime before putting the game out of reach with a 14-7 third quarter advantage.

Lady Gophers tripped up by Lehman Catholic

SIDNEY — Ridgemont had a seven-point halftime lead on Lehman Catholic, but could not hold on in the second half as the Cavaliers rallied for a 49-48 victory in Northwest Central Conference girls basketball action. The Gophers, whose seven-game winning streak was snapped, fall to 10-7 overall and 4-2 in the NWCC.

ADA — Led by senior Amy Bullimore’s team-high 20 points, 12 rebounds and three steals, the No. 10 ranked Ohio Northern Polar Bears controlled the paint on both ends of the court in Wednesday night’s game against Wilmington. The Polar Bears allowed just two buckets from inside the arc in the first half while hitting 12 of their own, helping them on their way to a 71-48 Ohio Athletic Conference victory.
