LIMA — Holding a 17-13 lead after one quarter, the Upper Scioto Valley Rams locked up shop and outscored Perry 10-2 in the second quarter of Friday night’s Northwest Central Conference boy’s basketball contest.

SIDNEY — Trailing just 9-6 after one quarter, Hardin Northern was outscored by Lehman Catholic 50-15 in the middle two quarters, leading to a 75-26 boys basketball loss on Friday.

ADA — The host Ada Bulldogs were unable to match up with Crestview in Friday night’s boys basketball contest, taking the 80-38 Northwest Conference loss. The Bulldogs drop their ninth-straight game to fall to 2-11 overall, 1-2 in the NWC. The Knights climb to 9-3 and sit unbeaten in the league with a 4-0 mark.

McGUFFEY — Wherever she shot the ball from, Upper Scioto Valley’s Kaycee Carroll didn’t seem to miss in the Lady Rams’ Northwest Central Conference contest against Perry on Thursday.

Trailing by three points at halftime, the Kenton Wildcats knew they were going to have to buckle down on the defensive end of the floor if they were going to beat St. Marys on Thursday night. The Wildcats did just that and it sparked a 15-2 run at the end of the third quarter and beginning of the fourth frame that allowed them to take control on the way to a 64-52 victory over the visiting Roughriders.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Leipsic outscored Riverdale in each of the first three quarters on the way to a 58-40 victory over the host Lady Falcons in Blanchard Valley Conference girls basketball action on Thursday night.

ADA — After leading since the early minutes of the first half, the Ohio Northern men’s basketball team found itself down against Heidelberg. Trailing 81-80 after a driving basket by senior Nate Burger, Northern took a time out with 34 seconds to go.

BELLEFONTAINE — With their court-time limited over the past week because of inclement weather, the Ben Logan girls were a bit sluggish on the offensive end of the floor during Wednesday’s CBC contest against rival Bellefontaine.

Kenton jumps back into boys basketball league play on Friday night when the Wildcats go on the road to face St. Marys. The Wildcats (7-3 overall and 1-1 in the WBL) are going after their third straight victory, having recorded wins the past two Saturday nights over Delphos Jefferson and Liberty-Benton.
